I’ve seen a LOT of polo shirts during my twenty years or so in the promotional products business. I’ve seen several that claim their collars do not roll, but they do. Why is this and how do you get around it? I will try to advise.
There are basically two types of collars on polo shirts. There is the ribbed collar, where you can see the lined weave to it like below.

Then there is the self-fabric collar which is, at it says, made of the same material as the shirt itself is. They look more like this below.

I have yet to find a ribbed collar that does not roll. That includes nice name brand shirts, that I won’t mention here, that sell for around $100 or more. So you spend your whole day, if you care, folding your collar back down. Not fun.
I think the problem is worse in the south, where our company is, because of the humidity. The humidity seems to make them roll more. I’ve seen companies even put collar stays in their ribbed collars, and that did not help.
The only way I’ve found to get a polo shirt with a collar that will not roll is to get one with a self-fabric collar. It seems there are more of these available now also, so maybe the shirt manufacturers are catching on also.
