Maybe this has occurred to many of you already, but it was enlightening to me several years ago when I read about it. When choosing a promotional item, the more senses it can appeal to then the better the chances are of the recipient keeping them.
Here are some items that appeal to more than one sense:
Food items – They can touch them, taste them, and in most cases smell them. Throw some nuts in and you’ve got crunchy sounds also.
Antibacterial Spray – We’ve sold a lot of antibacterial spray over the past few years. The most popular is the citrus scented. People actually like smelling their hands after using it.
Lip Balm – Lip balm is our #1 selling item, primarily for trade shows. You do have to be careful with some of the flavors in lip balm but when you get the right one they are very popular. We highly recommend getting a sample of whichever flavor you plan to order so you can test it first. Some just do not taste good.
Speakers – Bluetooth speakers have also become very popular over the past couple years. The sound obviously makes a difference, but you can also look for cooler designs that might be more visually appealing.
Other Sound Items – There are greeting cards with sound, buttons, etc.
Scented Items – Everyone likes a pleasant small. There are scented candles, scented highlighters, scented lip balm, aromatherapy items and more.
Stone Paper - One of the most unusual paper items to come out in recent years is notebooks with “stone paper”. It is actually a stone byproduct and has the smoothest and softest finished of any paper you’ll find. Many people like it simply for how it feels. It is actually a little smoother to write on as well!
If you want to explore how to appeal to more of people’s senses with your promotional items, we’d be glad to make suggestions.
