It's always great to attend the Promotional Products Association's largest trade show of the year in Las Vegas. It's an excellent opportunity to see what's new and what the current trends are. There are close to 3,000 suppliers exhibiting!
We've added a new Hot New Promotional Items 2018 to our website where you can see much more than I'll include here.
Overall here's some trends I noted:
- Heather and/or melange materials continue to be very popular, particularly in gray, perhaps because many logo colors would look good on gray. I'm seeing this not just in apparel but other bags, backpacks and such.
- Gadget bags, for keeping all your tech cords and accessories together, now come in much more affordable materials. Last year most were a harder type case that was $5+, with most being closer to $10. They are under $5 now. I've noted a few below.
- Urban style backpacks are becoming more prevalent, including water resistant ones and of course heather pattern ones.
- I think these may have actually debuted last year but these washable grocery totes are very cool. They look like regular bags, but aren't.
- And combining some popular new items from a year or two ago seems to be a trend. Like a vacuum-sealed sport bottle with a bluetooth speaker.
- This is a pretty cool tech item - a smart plug - let's you control plugged in things with an app, Alexa, etc.
- And another relatively new item (late last year) is this wireless device charger. The good thing about it is the adapters that come with it so it is compatible with many devices.
